Liberton golf course
Really enjoyable round with some friends. Great layout and well kept course. Really great running course. Only slight negative is the course is quite short but greens are well protected by bunkers. Would definitely play again.

Never disappointed with Liberton, great wee course
Great conditions for mid winter
Liberton is a short course, perfect foe winter golf where the ball doesn’t travel / run as far. Play is off tee mats with fairway mats (provided) and yesterday 1/12 there were 12 full greens 6 winter. Course was busy but round was 3 hours 15. Perfect way to spend a winter afternoon.
Works on course spoil day
Having played at Liberton on several occasions previously and really enjoyed the course, it was extremely disappointing to encounter the issues we did yesterday.
1. The course was playing mats and some winter greens, not a problem in itself, however we were not advised this when booking and no discounted price was offered (we've played the fully opened course several times for the same as we paid yesterday). This is only a fairly minor complaint.
2. Slow play in front of us was a problem from 3 different groups, none of which made any attempt to speed up or let us play through. Again this is something we could put up with and wasn't the end of the world, but did add to the disappointment.
3. The main complaint was the amount of tractors and works going on during our round. This was very off putting when trying to play a shot with a tractor 10feet behind you with its engine roaring. Worse than that on one of the holes, one worker actually changed the flag position to a winter green when we were in the middle of playing the hole and about to play our approach shots! This was totally unacceptable. He then proceeded to fire up the tractor and drive back and forth less than 10feet behind us as we were attempting to put! No care or consideration given whatsoever to paying golfer trying to play the course.
Mainly for reason 3, we will not be returning to play this course until next summer (if at all). We all accept that conditions are different during the winter and certain controls have to be put in place, but the way it was dealt with yesterday was disgraceful.
