Auchterarder Golf Club

Played here yesterday course was in fantastic condition even with the greens still under a little rework they were probably still the best condition greens I've played on this year. Will definitely be back.

Firstly, this would have been a 5 star review but for the greens being spiked and sanded on my day of play.. A process usually done on autumn but the Club are trialling this in summer. Pretty sure it will work well for them. I was so looking forward to their brilliant greens with a new putter so knocked a star off. That said, I enjoyed a fantastic round. The course is just beautiful. Well kept and very tidy with wee boxes for broken tees and seeded sand for par 3 divots. Never had a bad lie all day there was even a greenkeeper blowing grass filings from fairways. Auchterarder is my kinda old fashioned golf course, some short Par 4's, beautifully contoured approaches and greens and a tough finish. There are pin locations that are very well thought out and no doubt make this course a tricky one. The welcome is always warm and chatty, I was playing solo and 3 games in front let me through with a smile and wave. The course was busy but you don't mind waits when its sunny and in such a beautiful setting. I did chuckle looking over to the PGA at Gleneagles and their fancy fairway sprinklers thinking that I was on a far better stretch than that big expanse of featureless bomb and hope (Not the Kings or Queens**). Superb day despite my initial disappointment at greens maintainance in July during a very dry spell when they would have been snooker table perfect. I'll be back, the new Scotty can wait a few weeks yet to be christened in Perthshire.

Played this course a number of years ago and still in good condition with greens rolling well to a nice standard. Challenging at some of the tee box areas.

One of the best value rounds I’ve played. Course was in excellent condition and although quite short there are some tough tee shots that will test the best players. Keep it straight and you can’t go wrong! Greens were very good and were playing at a decent pace. Especially down hill. Would recommend this course to everyone and would definitely play it again.

Booked 18 but it was so cold we had to cut it short! Course playing well and greens in good condition. Shame about the weather

Great course, reminds me very much of Ladybank in Fife which is my favourite course. Very playable and got it for a great price.vfriendly welcome by the pro and enjoyed a crispy bacon roll before my round. Paired up with three other guys who were great company (still surprises me to read reviews where folk are angry at getting paired up with others, very unsociable people). A must play.
