Hidden gem

First time playing this course and it won’t be the last. A few blind holes but it has some cracking holes. Holes 4-13 are epic. A must for the money. Would recommend

Superb

Played this course on Sunday 20th September in a fourball, first time on the course and i must say it was brilliant. Plenty of blind tee off holes and many challenges for any players. Staff and Members of the club were very polite and sociable. Particularly the lovely young lady who was serving us. I will be back soon! Thanks again!

Intriguing Course in great condition

First time playing Old course at Renfurly and first time reviewing a golf course. On the whole was a really enjoyable experience and definitely worth the money.

I had read a few reviews regarding a few blind greens/summits and fairway crossovers with some reservation but actually found it added to the charm and generally the bell system worked well. Mostly found the blind summits to be forgiving on the other side. However if you struggle off the tee you may find the 15th pretty intimidating.

No two holes were similar and the course makes really good use of the underlying contours, with mounds, gulleys, raised greens, several raised tees down to a lower fairways.

Loved the finishing holes of 15,16,17,18.

Only minor issue was lack of a scorecard as the pro shop was closed at the time we played, hence had to resort to using a phone. However the tees are well labelled with maps of each hole. Members were also friendly and pointed us in the right direction.

Would like to play again with the hindsight of what lies over hill...

Good mornings golf at Old Course Ranfurly Golf Club

After a night and early morning of torrential rain we were a bit worried about the conditional of the course but for our round the rain stayed away and the sunshine arrived! Although the early greens were a bit soggy the course held up well to the heavy rainfall. Unfortunately the 8th hole was on the winter green but that didn't stop us enjoying a good round of golf.

Enjoyable

The course was enjoyabe even although we had mixed weather. A challenge to play with so many blind tee shots as it was first time playing. Next time will be more knowledgable when to leave driver in the bag. A goof few unusual holes. all greens played true and our 3 ball all enjoyed the play. Members all cheery and helpful as was the green keeper who gave us a guide of the course before we started

Great coarse layout

Playing a two ball but on tee off realised that golfnow had another two ball playing with us also. It was fine. Coarse has about 13 blind tees but are well explained on each tee and is no problem. Greens were fas, tees were nice and the back drop is amazing. Would recommend and go back again

Fantastic Course

This course is one of our favourites. A friend and I travel around as visitors and we always come back to Old Ranfurly.

Its holding up well against the recent rain with very little mud to be seen. Greens are also running well at the moment and are a testament to the greens staff.

There are a few unusually laid out holes from the 15th onwards and they need just the right placement of the ball. Honestly though, they just add to the enjoyment.

Some beautiful vistas to be found which overlook Glasgow and the Kilpatrick Hills when the weather is clear.

I'd thoroughly recommend a round.

Didn’t Disappoint...

I’d heard great things about Old Ranfurly over the years, but never played until today. Late October, but weather was mainly bright with just enough wind to keep you thinking about your next shot. Interesting variety of holes, offering varied challenges. Superb views too.

Clubhouse was closed, but friendly grounds-keepers were on hand to give an update on course conditions and point us in the direction of the 1st tee.

Thoroughly enjoyable round of golf. Will be back.
