Piperdam Golf & Leisure Resort (formerly known as The Osprey Course at Piperdam) is so named because during the summer months, Ospreys nest at the loch that the course surrounds. The event has become such an attraction that the Piperdam Osprey Centre, an observation facility for visitors, was built. The course has a parkland style layout with water hazards and out-of-bounds stakes. Golfers are quickly introduced to the challenges of the course with the par-3 first hole, which requires a careful tee shot over water in order to reach the green. In addition to the scenic course, Piperdam Golf & Leisure Resort offers a 12-bay driving range as well as boat and bank fishing on the loch.

Scenic and expansive.

Lovely day, with glorious Scottish flora. The course was in excellent condition, with fast and true greens, and good width for driving. It's very much a case of two halves. The first is on the side of a hill, so every shot is rolling down one way or the other. The second is relatively flat, though holes are a bit samey. There's challenging length throughout, with water also to fly directly over, as well as ditches, burns, and small ponds at intervals. The back nine can be unexpectedly wet underfoot. That said, design is good--not excessively 'modern', so bunkers are strategically placed, giving several choices. Worth a trip.

Excellent Day on a nice course

The day was excellent if a bit breezy. The course was fairly quiet when we teed off (10:15ish).

The staff member in the pro shop was very friendly and a great help with course information, yardages etc. He also allowed us to play off the back tees, which I would recommend.

The greens were running very nicely, a couple were particularly slow, but that didn't dampen the experience.

We were playing at a particularly fair ace, and had no issues, until we hit the turn, where we managed to catch up to a three ball. They managed to up their pace so we weren't waiting too often, so hats off to them.

A few very nice holes and a few tests along they way. I would recommend this course to anyone. I have played a few courses around Dundee and Angus and I would rank this one up there for the price you pay against the quality of the course.
