Greenburn Golf Club
About
Get clever at Greenburn Golf Club, which offers a challenging 18-hole combination of parkland and moorland over 6,067 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course has sat at its current spot for more than half a century, ever since its members constructed it by its Latin ethos: "Per Nostra Opera" (By Our Own Endeavors).
A round of golf at the Greenburn Golf Club kicks off atop Falla Hill, as the first hole is called, a par 4 that measures 268 yards from the white tees and requires a shot toward the right side of the fairway. The long hole is Bent Head, the course's fourth, a par 5 that comes in at 536 yards - to add to the fun (or not), the hole is uphill all the way, though it can be accomplished in three shots. Finish things off on the eponymous The Greenburn, where you'll have four strokes to clear 361 yards, which isn't easy, with out-of-bounds zones on both sides.
Greenburn Golf Club's pro shop offers various packages, including 18-hole instruction that guarantees at least five birdies or you get 10 UK pounds back.

Not a bad track, but greens could use some TLC
Weather was nice so tried to get a round in after work.
Could in general is in good condition and look like they'd handle themselves well if it was wet.
The greens were a bit odd, the bits that weren't covered by pitch marks were consistent and well looked after but there was an incredible amount of pitch marks on all greens which made some of the holes a lottery.
Would play again but hopefully the greens get a bit of care.
Great value
Played this course in mid April on a lovely sunny warm evening. Beautiful surroundings, ideal difficulty level for high handicappers but also some fairly long par fours for the better players. Course drainage is good with very good run of the ball on fairways, rough is usually playable so it’s a fair course. Greens quite bobbly at the moment but that should improve towards summer as it seems to be drainage holes which have only just been filled in with ground repair. Once the seeds sow, these should heal. For £18 you won’t get better value.
Beautiful course
First time I’m playing this course. Fantastic course. Very well looked after. Suitable for golfers at all levels. Lots of narrow fairways but not too challenging. Only criticism would be the price - I could play at Hollandbush for £11.50 and that’s an even nicer course.
Pleasant Course
I really enjoyed playing this course. It was just such a pity how much rain we have had recently, making underfoot conditions very soggy.
Will definitely come back when drier conditions, and winter rules are over.
Better than expected
Layout and scenery amazing given location.
Hard to beat for value.
Good course for all standards.
Made me consider becoming a member
First time playing and it was really enjoyable. Not a course you need to smash a driver every hole. Some of the holes with ditches, bunkers, and water make you think off the tee and sometimes a midiron is best club to avoid danger. Enjoyed the challenge in wet conditions, and the greens although sandy due to winter season, ran moderate and true which was great. Shame the weather was misty as couldnt enjoy the views of course.
Although given a higher than average slope rating it didnt play that difficult with our 4 ball all being level par or better. Hole 18 tight approach to green and can imagine that being a card buster on medal day. Cant wait to play this course again!!!! Brilliant Day!
Greenburn
Very good course I that was in excellent condition considering the weather we had recently.
What a lovely wee course
A bit wet underfoot but there has been plenty of rain recently so the course was good taking this into consideration. Very scenic and they have taken pride in the appearance. A real bargain and really enjoyed playing here.
Great find and great course
Visited the course after a full week of heavy rain and have to say the course was in great shape!
Boggy in bits of the rough but fairways, tees and greens were almost perfect like it hadn’t even been raining.
Will definitely be back for another round in the not too distant future.
Tough but beautiful
I had a solo round for only £10 which was excellent value. The ground was a little waterlogged in places which I guess is to be expected in October. The greens were in fantastic knick. The yellow tees really put a premium on longer and accurate drives to just get in postion at the start of a fairway. Scenery is stunning and well worth the fee just take some extra balls and consider the red tees if driving strength isn't your strong suit.qm
Bad Customer Service
On arrival at the course we were met with contempt by an over zealous golf professional or starter who was arrogant in his approach and only when I mentioned a review did he attempt to backtrack on his demeanour through false apologies attempting to get one of the members outside to back him up. On playing the course we found that it was being top sanded on all greens, course maintenance wasn't mentioned on purchase and we would have played elsewhere knowing this. Additionally, the flags were not Covid-19 compliant in that you needed to move the pin as the small block in the middle attempting to prevent the ball dropping was too small. Having played Greenburn numerous times this is the worst encounter I have had and if this is the general approach it shows why the course was so quiet. Maybe a customer care course for the professional or starter wouldn't go amiss.
Golf game
It's a beautiful well keepd course lovely, to play will go again when up in Scotland

Wee Gem
What a lovely surprise this course turned out to be. I had to be coaxed into playing this by a friend who assured I would enjoy - he didn't lie!
Yes it's not a championship course but having played many of both illustrious and mondaine golf courses I respect a course's limits. It's clear to see this is a course that it's members cherish and green keepers respect, as the condition the three times I have played this season has been as good as can be expected.
This course represents a chance for mid or high handicappers to score a birdie or three and for low handicappers to enjoy as close a score to the par as they wish - so an enjoyable round awaits. Par 3s are good, with exception of the tenth. Fairly easy course, which is flat, not a lot on on course long rough and it's in a lovely setting with excellent course conditions at a very competitive rate... What's not to enjoy!
