Glencorse Golf Club
About
Glencorse Golf Club was voted a hidden Scottish hidden gem by Sports Illustrated. It's not hard to see why: Founded in 1890, the club was designed by Willie Park and claims top golfers as members. Among them are the former Walker Cup Captain George Macgregor and the former Ryder Cup Captain Bernard Gallagher.
Glencorse Golf Club offers 18 holes and 5,217 yards of parkland golf that, even with eight par 3s, provides a hearty challenge: Only one hole of this octet measures less than 200 yards. The golf course provides a solid day for golfers of all levels.
As a bonus for golf tourists who are also regular tourists, Glencorse Golf Club sits nine miles from Edinburgh Castle and the city center, and a mile from Rosslyn Chapel, featured in "The Da Vinci Code."

Great wee course!
Course isn't the longest. 8 par 3's and no par 5's, but its a wee beauty. Lots of scenic holes, kept in great condition. Love this course.
Heavy Going - Somme like conditions
I played this for the first time with a couple of friends, now lm sure the course is well laid out and enjoyable in dryer climates. But, l feel the course on this occasion failed to deliver, it’s obviously well played, maybe because of this the muddy , close to the Battle of the Somme conditions made it difficult to play, we walked off after nine holes, underfoot was dangerous, tee mats have seen better days, much to the extent that if you wanted to use a small tee, it was difficult to set the ball up. Although it was a relatively dry day, you can visibly see the volume of footfall playing the course, It would benefit from less usage, or restrict the amount of players on the course, it looked tired and it was dangerous to walk in some areas.
I know it’s difficult during these covid times and clubs benefit from additional income through Golf Now, but l thin’ the shear volumes are having a negative impact at Glen Corse, l fear for the club members if and when the new season starts in 2021, their course may not have recovered.
Muddy field
Was told only 1 winter green not true ,This course was unplayable muddy everywhere still coring greens so late on .even the tee boxes were a disgrace no holes to put tees muddy obviously using grass roundabout due to no holes for tees good course if decent conditions should not have been open
November game
Course very wet under foot, but that is expected this time of year.
Greens were poor - little grass wet tyned and sand a plenty.
Probably shouldn't expect better at this time of year inland.
Enjoyable through Wet conditions
Winter greens but heavy and slow with the wet but really nice course with some great views
Saturated
Would definitely return in summer but never again in autumn as leaves and heavy under feet make finding your ball on the fairway a challenge great course and very friendly staff
Cracking course
Cracking wee course with some lovely holes as well as a number of testing Par 3’s. Course was in great condition for the time of year.
Really enjoyed the round and will play again. Will also recommend to friends.
Great Day
Played this course 20 years ago, so wanted to play it again.I don't remember the course being so fantastic, long par 3s, dogleg par 4s and fantastic treeilnes and water
The views were amazing and the greens were true
Thank you Glencourse my friend from Manchester was blown away
Course in Great Condition
Fantastic course, really challenging even though not the longest. Lots of great holes and course in brilliant condition, especially the greens. Would definitely recommend.
Not too challenging but a nice course all the same.
Played my first round for about 15 months here. The course is not too long ( no par 5's) but the holes are interesting and some are fairly challenging.. Condition was good.-. little mud and greens well kept..
Great little course
The front nine are a joy lovely don’t be put off by the number of par 3 they are all a joy to play great value for
