Stunning views
A warm welcome in the well stocked Pro Shop. Each hole presented a different challenge, most having stunning views over to Dumbarton Castle, and further up to Ben Lomond. For the time of year, and given recent poor weather the course was in excellent condition. Really enjoyed and would definatelh visit again
What a difference the day makes
Played this course a few times. It is now in the best condition I have ever seen it. Great to play and some spectacular views over the Clyde. The scenery definitely adds to the experience. Perfect course for a sunny day, less obvious in the mist or rain. Views come at a price though as you have to climb the hills to get them. Most slopes are gradual so perfectly walkable for able golfers but would recommend a trolley or buggy for anyone with mobility issues.
Returned 5 years later....
Played today 13th November, course is in great condition for the time of year and massive improvements since I last played over 5 years ago.
Enjoyed the round and pace of play, I would like to note that as visitors we were made very welcome.
Pro was great and provided some good detail regarding the course, also provided us with a small bag of tees and divot repair! Good touch, would be good if all golfers fixed there own divots. I lost count how many I fixed, not the golf clubs fault but ignorant golfers not taking 5 seconds to fix.
Overall it was a great day and will definitely return / potentially would join as a member.
Only down fall was the price of a pint of cider and a small glass of coke haha.... Be warned!
Course was very wet but playable but certainly not for buggies ( should never have been on)as the 1 in front of us was certainly leaving it’s mark I pity the green keepers that have to try and fix the damage .We enjoyed our day at Gleddoch though nice to still play a course during the winter months without course restrictions ie:winter mats.
Very slow pace
Played here for the first time with a friend.
Got paired up with two others, however when they learned that we hadn't been playing long they wanted to play ahead (fair enough). However they were playing at a snail's pace and eventually there was a big queue behind us.
Due to the freezing cold weather / fog and their pace of play, it was dark before we could finish our round.
Slow Pace & Freezing Cold
Played this course for the first time with a friend. On arrival we were paired up with two people we'd never met.
We're relatively new to golf and due to this, they asked if they could play ahead of us. Fair enough. But they ended up playing very slow and causing a queue behind us as well.
We had to give up at the 15th hole since it was getting dark and there was a freezing fog.
Seems like they just cram as many people into a 4 ball as they can without letting anyone know. The two in front were holding up the pace of play and wouldn't let anyone play through.
Nice course for time of year still working to make better
Couldn’t complain about course.starter very helpful course a little wet and muddy around tees but due to severe rain recently expected.used club for bit of lunch afterwards.food was ok for price expected to pay.staff fine although would expect to be given knife/fork and napkins when you order food without having to ask for it.all in all value for money but would probably eat elsewhere next time.
Night & Day
Played the course a few years back, walked off after 8 holes.
Had heard good things about the course and hotel as a whole, with vast investments in both.
Played today and the course was excellent, given the recent weather a few places were a bit wet, but that's being picky! Excellent course, well worth it!
Gleddoch golf in october
Course fastly improved since I last played there drainage, layouts of some holes have been extended
Excellent course
Fabulous views and really good course layout, especially the back nine. Some great elevated tee positions. Would return in a heartbeat!

Gleddoch House Golf and Spa - can't wait to play it again
This beautiful rolling course provides an enjoyable all round test of your game. Opening with a gentle par 4 up the hill and promising views ot the Clyde the course soon reminds you who is boss with an uphill par 5 threading through neatly manicured burns that requires careful negotiation. The course continues to climb through pleasant parkland with neatly mown fairways and true greens adding to the growing vista and providing further scoring opportunities.
You need to hang on when you reach the turn, as the terrain changes and the course adapts seamlessly with it to give a rollercoaster ride home with a links type feel. Aptly named holes like Gorse Hill and the Lang Whang leave you in no doubt as to what you are up against. The course continues to climb providing growing views and final photo opportunites before the spectacular drop hole "Doon and Roon" plummets you back to the large and comfortable Clubhouse and welcome refreshment in the nineteenth hole.
I sat there with a smile on my face and can't wait to return and play it again.
If you like to just grip it and rip it, your day will end in tears but if you enjoy the challenge of course management, you will never tire of playing Gleddoch House.
Gleddoch House Golf and Spa - can't wait to play it again
A unique course that takes you on a most enjoyable journey literally and mentally. Starting gently with a short par 4 and a pretty par 3 offering early birdie chances and promising views of the Clyde, the course quickly lets you know who is boss with an uphill par 5 threading through neatly manicured burns which require careful negotiation. Having survived that, you gain altitude and the views just get better and better as you work through the front nine in parkland surroundings. Every hole is beautifully presented by the green staff; the greens are true and fairways neatly mown.
When you reach the turn, hang on tight as the back nine takes you on a rollercoaster ride through the beautiful and rugged countryside giving an almost links type feel with blind drives, climbing forever higher and views that grow and grow. Holes are aptly named with the likes of Gorse Hill and The Lang Whang leaving you in no doubt of what you are up against.
Then with the Summit reached and the final photo opportunities taken the course plummets you back down to the luxurious Clubhouse with the spectacular drop hole "Doon and Roon". Safely indoors in the Nineteenth Hole, it's impossible not to smile about what went before - all I wanted to do was go straight back out and play it again.
One word of warning, don't just grip it and rip it, it will end in tears. It's a test of your course management, but don't forget your camera.
Very worth while
I have newly moved to the Bishopton area and was looking for a club to join so I had played pretty much them all in this area and for me this is the one I'm joining.
There haven't been many reviews put up since the work has been done on the course and that is a travesty, the effort that has been spent in bringing this course up to scratch is amazing. Yes the 10th and 14th are still alittle patchy but that's to be expected where it's located. I can't rate my experience on this course highly enough and if your in the area I would recommend it.
