First impressions of Brechin GC
The course was in great condition, even for the time of year plus all the bad weather we have recently experienced, so massive acknowledgement to the hard work of all personnel involved.
The golf pro in the shop before and after my round was very helpful and gave me great advice after hearing that this was my first time to play the course. His professionalism and friendliness helped to make the whole experience very enjoyable.
The booking process was simple and straight forward.
Great deal being offered for the duration of February which allows golfers to play a round for £10 per person.
Worth a Visit
This was a far better course than I thought it would be, clean and tidy.
Fantastic
Warmly welcomed at the Pro shop. Nice breakfast roll and coffee. The course was in excellent condition and very dry despite recent heavy rain. Every hole is different on the course but the generous fairways make it very user friendly. The greens were superb. 2nd time I’ve played the course and will definitely be back.
This course has a great layout
The green were being repaired when I played but very well worked out. Really enjoyed the challenge & lovely scenery. Definatly going back
Damp conditions but well maintained, if slightly disjointed, course.
The layout of Brechin golf course is somewhat unusual but was caused, I understand, by the arrival of the dual carriageway which dissected the course in 2. You play the first 3 holes then walk a bit to find the 4th tee. Here there is a loop of the 4th , 5th and 6th before walking across a bridge over the main road to find 7 - 17 before recrossing to play the 18th.
It was very damp the day we were there so conditions meant no run at all, but still lightning fast greens, which I have to say were in great condition. The slope on some of these was incredible, we found them very difficult to read! A real challenge to 2 putt to be honest.
I would like to go back and play the course on a dry day as I really liked the layout and feel I could do better the second time.
Brechin is worth a visit
Enjoyed paying brechin golf club, there is good variety to the layout, some testing greens that were in nice condition, found front nine easier than back, you have to walk a little between groups of holes divided and by crossing bridge over motorway but was an different experience, shame it was a little bit wet on the day with some drizzle but will be back and hopefully the sun will come out to play. Worth a visit and decent value.
Great course
Thoroughly enjoyed the course, it is in very good condition. The only minor gripe was the walks between some of the holes
Good Experience
The course is in 3 parts, holes 1,2 & 3 are in one field, 4,5,6 in another then you cross over a bridge, additional signage would benefit visitors here.
Generally well worth a visit.
Some tricky greens
Some short par 4s but sloping greens. A few tricky par 3 s. A few long walks between some holes. I liked the course bus as it straddles a dual carriageway the traffic noise was annoying on quite a few holes.
Value for money
Brechin is an excellent challange for all standards of golfer. Always in good condition, with freindly staff. Excellent value for money.
Great course , heavy rain
Course was soaking due to heavy rain during the round, some greens were over sanded but the overall course was great
Great course
Great course, looks easy and that's when it bites you. Been before, everyone friendly I will be back.
