Ballumbie Castle Golf Club has an interesting and diverse layout where no two holes are even remotely similar. Located on the outskirts of Dundee, the course was a welcome addition since the area was mostly lacking in parkland courses. Golfers can expect to use most of the clubs in their bag, but not necessarily a driver on the first six holes where accuracy is more important than distance. Water hazards come into play on four holes. One of the most notable holes is the par-4 10th, which features a burn alongside the fairway, a sloping bank to the right, and a pond to the left. Ballumbie Castle Golf Club also offers a driving range and it is conveniently located less than two miles from Carnoustie.

Great course

Played this course on a warm afternoon in may and was very impressed..fairways are quite forgiving,so great for higher hcp golfers, but a lot of raised greens which are tricky..staff are very welcoming and food good..only criticism was the tees, patchy and long grass. Overall I would definitely recommend this course.
