Challenging Course
Course was in fine condition and the people we came across were helpful and friendly. The course itself was in decent condition and seemed to be well looked after. My only complaint really would be that the layout isn’t what I enjoy. There was one hole, I think it was the 12th, was possibly the least enjoyable hole of golf I’ve ever played. Very strange layout and I struggle to find anything redeeming about that particular hole. Doubt I’d play again but that’s purely as it’s far far too hilly for me.
First Time @ Windyhill
Enjoyable course, especially the front 9. Couple of holes in the middle of the back 9 were questionable (12 thru 15), but then it is a lovely finish to the course. Greens very receptive after a good dumping of rain, but rolled fast & true. All in all an enjoyable afternoons golf and I would play it again. If you struggle with walking I would suggest a buggy, we walked round in a fourball in under 4 hours comfortably, but as the name suggests, it is a bit hilly at times.
Worth a visit
Nice course good condition and excellent value for money. Some stunning views over the city but still feels like the countryside.
Lived up to the name.
A good challenge with plenty of interesting holes and good exercise walking up and down the hill. A number of blind shots that would make the course even more enjoyable on return visits with the knowledge gained from a round already played.
Great Condition Course
Excellent course, but is slightly hilly, was tired when finished. Great views and well worth a visit.
Windyhill
Well kept course in fine condition, some tough holes, blind shots etc, rained most of the round but still enjoyable.
What a beautiful course.
I can't believe I have never played this course before, and it is right on my doorstep.
The course is very well kept, quite challenging (or very challenging if you play like I did on the day). I loved the natural rock features, the views and variations of hole type.
We'll definitely be back.
Feeling fit ??
Good course , good condition, but eat your weetabix it’s a slog !
Windyhill in great condition
Windyhill was in great condition, well defined fairways and slick and tricky greens. Two of us played using a buggy and members were very courteous, letting us thro' when required.
Windy and hilly.
Nice course in excellent condition. Good layout and a good test of golf for all standards of golfers. The day we played was sunny and breezy which added to the degree of difficulty on some of the holes. Fabulous views and I would recommend playing this course.
simply superb!
Windyhill has a fine selection of golf holes from very tough to simple par 4s. The par 3s & 5s could stand against any top course if not even better. A majestic golf course and is playing excellent with the good weather.
Hilly with great views
Hilyl course, but with good views. All staff from pro shop to bar were very helpful and friendly, especially Caroline for the free food and cakes.
Quality golf course
On a sunny day this was a lovely golf course to play with the fairways and greens in excellent condition. The pro shop was welcoming (not always the case when visiting new courses ) the course was quite challenging physically and the views were great over the Clyde. Would I play it again? Yes
Would recommend hiring a buggy if not fit.
Beautiful course
Best value round of golf in Scotland, £17 for such a great course , greens were perfect , course amazing and no hold ups . Would definitely go back . Never used clubhouse so can’t comment on amenities
A golf course with a great variety of holes. All very good. 3 very good short holes to finish and fab par 3s.
Good course
Good, challenging course to play. Greens were in good condition. Tricky course to play for the first time as there are a few blind shots but overall an enjoyable course.
How to play easily!
Looked up the course in question, saw that it was available via the tee time booking system. Booked and played the the course.
Overall a great experience and very easy to organize
This is a challenging course for a high handicap player like me . Greens were in excellent condition .
