East Lothian's Whitekirk Golf and Country Club allows golfers to unwind and play a round of golf on a tough 18-hole course that offers a combination of tradition, class, hospitality and elegance in lovely surroundings. About 2 miles off the coast, Whitekirk offers a links feel for a game played on lush, soft, green fairways. Cameron Sinclair designed the golf course, using indigenous water hazards and unwinding terrain to create a fun test for every level of player.
The test at Whitekirk Golf and Country Club is apparent from the start, as play kicks off on the 492-yard par-5 first hole, appropriately named the Awakener. The front nine closes out on the 328-yard par-4 New Mains. Close out the round on the 409-yard par-4 Auldhame, which plays downhill and usually downwind.
After the round, hit the Whitekirk Golf and Country Club Restaurant, which serves contemporary Scottish cuisine and traditional British fare, often made with ingredients from local suppliers.
