Glyn Wellings

Our week's Border golfing break always includes this course as it's an old favourite.
It is always a great pleasure to play here and I would recommend this course to anyone yet to play it.
We were favoured with good weather which is always a benefit and because this was our sixth consecutive day of golf decided on a buggy.
Very few people on the course, so no waiting to play shots and no one pushing us from behind.
A very pleasant parkland course with the best greens that we experienced all week ( including The Roxburgh ).
The Professional got us off early, the staff were very friendly and several club members enquired about our enjoyment of the course.
Having played here before, we were familiar with the course but nonetheless delighted with our day.
On this occasion we did not eat at the club but have in the past enjoyed value for money lunches.
A big thank you to Torwoodlee.

A good value course

Course was in good condition with true running greens. It has interesting challenges on some holes and is well worth the green fee.

Brilliant

Played this course a few times now, nice course which isn't too long but for £20 a buggy is a good idea.staff are very welcoming and very friendly .I would recommend torwoodlee to anyone looking for a challenge ( but not too much of one).

Nice course, gorgeous views

My round was played after a fairly wet spell, so I probably didn't see it at its best. This is a parkland course with gorgeous views of the nearby hills, lots of sloping lies and a pretty fierce climb up to the 5th green.

While the fairways aren't wide, there isn't a huge amount of trouble that will stop you from at least finding your ball. The course is generally in good condition, although a few of the tees looked in need of some TLC.

The clubhouse isn't huge but it is very friendly and welcoming.

A different layout

This course was fun and had some challenging shots, but the thing that will always stick in my mind is the layout of the front and back nines. On what would normally be considered the front nine you will find holes 1 thru 4 and holes 14 thru 18. And in the area that would normally be the back nine, you will find holes 5 thru 9 and holes 10 thru 13. Sounds confusing, but it actually works alright.
The greens are firm and the back nine area has some very interesting holes that will get your attention.
