Cracking wee par 3
For my level of golfing, I absolutely love this course. Has some burns and even a pond to play over, and some well placed bunkers. Over the 6 or 7 times I've play it, it has always been a very enjoyable challenge, be it wind, rain or even the last time, glorious sunshine! The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Looking forward to playing here again as Spring and Summer approaches.
Great short game practise.
This is a superb par 3 nine hole course. I’ve played it a few times now, great views and great other practise facilities a stones throw away for you to work on putting, bunker play and a driving range. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for an afternoon of game management. Friendly staff and an excellent brasserie for a bite to eat after.
Great Practise Course
I thouroughly enjoyed this small par 3 course. Lovely burn running through, and plenty new trees have been planted. Well thought out, and nice small bridges taking you over burn. I would imagine playing on a regular basis would soon bring handicap down! I will be back and will recommend also.
Good
I played the par 3 course today, as a short course it’s obviously not too challenging but it’s a great facility and excellent short game practice. Greens were very good Andy the course was in good condition for the time of year. I would visit again!
Not as described
Booked to play 18 holes with a friend but on arrival, a very un-helpful member of staff in the pro shop explained that it was the 9 hole, par 3 course that I had booked. When we asked if we could pay the extra to play the regular course, she looked us straight in the eye and said "its for members only". Whilst the par 3 course was fine, it was not what I had planned for my friend and I and I feel that the Templar course isn't advertised as such on the app.
Annoyingly, the regular course was extremely quiet all the time we were there. I won't be visiting again.
Hidden Gem
a hidden Gem to touch up on your short game.
If you think this 9 hole par 3 is easy then get 27 or less then, exactly !!!!!
The holes look at you and say "think I'm easy yea, then do me in 3 then"
We went round 3 times and were mostly 4s, some were 3s, sneaked in a 2 but also some 5s
We'll definitely be back and maybe pop in for some food next time,
the starter in the club shop could not have been more helpful to us which made all the difference.
Just too slow for a round of par 3s
We played a 2 ball at 9am and the pace of play for a small par 3 course was painful. There was multiple groups of 6+ kids playing under supervision and a few other 4 balls of young kids. It was taking up to 25 mins for a group to play a hole at times. 18 par 3s took us 4 hours 50 mins!
The tee time shouldn’t really have been offered to us. I would personally recommend the course is closed to visitors paying good money while (what I guess were) kids training schools were going on. It was nice to see kids playing and having fun but I’d rather have got out the way and left them to it.
9 hole
Very short 8 iron and pitch/w
At all holes green patchey
Not as advertised
Booked as a hot deal that stated a challenging course. However, when we arrived we were directed to a 9 hole all par 3 with the longest hole below 150 yards that we we to play twice Swanston is better than this and this deal does not show this course in it's best light.
