Tom Morris was one of the original designers of this golf course, which was founded in 1888. Today, Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club is sometimes described as a jewel in the Scottish Higlands.
The club started as a nine-hole layout but was later extended to a full 18. Twenty years after the original design was laid out, Tom Vardon added pot bunkers for another dimension of difficulty.
Strathpeffer Spa Golf Club, which offers excellent mountain views, measures 4,792 yards from the tips. Its self-labelled claim to fame is its drive from tee to green on the first hole, which features the longest drop on any golf course in Scotland.
The facility includes a clubhouse.
Location: Quarter of a mile north of village, off A834.
