St. Medan Golf Club is a golf course with a difference - 18 tees playing to nine greens, giving the golfer new challenges and options on each nine-hole round.

Scotland's most southerly golf course, formally opened in October 1905, is set on a very picturesque and historic promontory on the rugged Galloway coast. It offers an interesting and challenging game for novices and experienced golfers alike.

The signature hole is the 284-yard No. 4, an elevated tee shot toward the sea. There is danger to the right and left.

Location: Three miles south of Port William, off the A747.

Haven't played it for about 20 years, but it is an interesting course, up and down hill, across valleys, all in all a good challenge for an 18 handicapper like me, but I think there is also something for the low handicap. Inviting opening hole, downhill breaks u you in easy, but gets more of a challenge as you go round. Last hole was par three, but impossible for me to reach, challenge ofr a low handicapper. Pretty cheap at that time, but no practice facilities. Amazing scenery thou.
