Spey Valley Golf Course
About
Spey Valley's signature hole is the fifth, the longest hole in Scotland at 635 yards. However, several other holes deserve a mention for their natural beauty. The sixth spans a lake, which has been adopted as a nesting site by a bird colony.
The 12th is the start of the home stretch, where the Spey Valley opens up like a film set. The most spectacular of all is likely Spey Valley Golf Course's 18th, with its two bunkers designed to mirror the undulating corries of the mountains beyond.

Spey Valley
Golf shop was closed when I arrived to play, so did not see a member of staff before I teed off.
Course condition (tees and fairways) were in poor condition. Greens were fine.
Many tee shots would benefit from a marker (post) for optimal direction of Tee shot.
Spey Valley
Been lucky enough to play this course twice this year and would highly recommend! Great mix of incredible location and fantastic design along the Spey valley. Currently the best value course in Scotland?
Good Test of Golf
Very Good course - word of warning though - you need a buggy - long walks between green and next tee especially 1st to 2nd 300 yards and 17th to 18th 350 Yards - but course in excellent condition and a beautiful setting amongst the hills of the Cairngorms
Fantastic layout, but the greens were really poor condition.
The best course layout in the area, but the greens were very poor. Staff advised the condition of the greens was due to snow, but we played Grantown-on-Spey a few miles away and the greens were fantastic there.
Could do better
This is a great lay out despite the couple of quirky holes, especially for the better player.
The staff were brill and the situation could not be better.
Sadly the super fast greens were threadbare and did not putt truly - with a pro tournament in 2 weeks this must be a worry. The weather can’t be blamed because the greens at Boat 5 miles away were perfect.
The fairways were good and I liked the definition provided by the wispy rough.
Why oh why however had none of the bunkers been raked, not just on the the day but seemingly for a long time?
This meant many players hadn’t bothered raking either (rude) .
It’s a premium price to play here so I would expect premium conditions
Superb Course
Spey Valley was in great condition. Despite heavy rain earlier in the week, there ware virtually no wet spots and the greens were excellent.
Great layout
Greens very good, suffered from moss the last few times I played but this has been eradicated. Great course.
Just Awesome
Played with 5 friends on Saturday 25th March. Arrived at course for 1.30pm tee time and was welcomed by friendly Director of Golf - Jonny. Despite not having buggies booked there was no issue getting them. The weather was glorious and the course matched it. Second time playing it and things have only got better. Very dry despite the winter weather and the greens (although a little slow) rolled perfectly. Layout is superb, no 2 holes the same. A must play on your road up to the likes of Castle Stuart and Dornoch.
