Pitreavie Golf Club
About
Pitreavie Golf Club has an 18-hole, parkland layout with some elements of traditional links golf mixed in. Dr. Allistair MacKenzie designed Pitreavie. In his design, he incorporated features from his favorite course, the famous Old Course at St Andrews. Rather than flattening any undulation in the landscape, MacKenzie artificially enhanced the gentle slopes but still blended them seamlessly with the natural terrain. The golf course offers panoramic views of Forth Valley for golfers to enjoy during their round. Pitreavie Golf Club provides a formidable test but it is not beyond the means of a high handicapper.

Greens were cored and topped with sand but still ran good but thought we should haveneen informed when booking . Still very enjoyable would defo play again ,staff were brilliant and so was the breakfast. .
Fantastic course
Not overly long but really well set out with some lovely holes. Some small green makes precision a must. And on the subject of greens, these are some of the best greens I’ve played on.
Excellent course in fantastic condition
Was a long time member when I was a younger boy, recently back into golf with my son, so it is always good to play Pitreavie. Greens and fairways were fast even after some morning rain. Some of the holes played long with the wind. All in all it was a fantastic round producing my best score in 25+ years. Very pleasing.
Lovely course
The course was lovely with lots of very different and interesting hole. The greens were absolutely immaculate, how the only down side (if I'm being really picky) was the tee boxes could do with a little more attention. Overall a cracking course and I will certainly be back!
Walter's Experience of Petreavie 23 Jul 2022
Booking through Golf Now gave good value for money. However, when you pay for a hot deal be aware that you may have to play with others who have paid for the hot deal too.
Petreavie starts with 2 Par 5s and finishes with 2 long bar 4s. In between there are many short par 4s, which is great. The 13th hole is the most difficult hole because of the sloping fairway and surrounding burns. This is not obvious on the course map.
Great wee course with friendly staff. I strongly recommend it for anyone wishing to play golf in Fife.
Enjoyed last outing.
Played pitreavie a couple of years ago and was blown away by the greens, very fast and very challenging. However playing yesterday was a little disappointing, the greens have obviously had work done on them but still got the tram lines because it’s so dried out the course. The tees are all mostly burnt beyond repair also. The pace of the greens very slow aswell which surprised me a lot.
Maybe I was expecting too much after last time but I won’t be rushing back to play again which is sad.
Definitely worth a visit
Whilst still in the grip of winter the course was very well presented and very playable. Winter mats and tees but full greens which were decent to putt on.
Quirky layout and very tricky greens if you're on the wrong level.
Would certainly go back again..
Guests not welcome
Third time playing this lovely course and third time subjected to the highly condescending and insulting waffle from the pro working in the shop.
It’s very clear guests are not welcome in his eyes and despite having an allocated tee time which you have paid for, you are dragged into his shop to be spoken down to like a child.
I had been warned you are made to feel very unwelcome and spoken to as if you’re a burden to the course and experienced twice before first hand, but assumed this would have been addressed by now. It has not been and frankly it’s insulting.
The guests I was with are within their first year of golf and as a result of rushing the first few holes as directed by the pro due to a competition which was due to start shortly after our tee time (no visibility of this when booking), it completely spoiled their day, they won’t be back.
The course it’s self is in good condition, especially for the weather with well maintained greens, however there are equally nice courses for the money locally and without the hassle of dealing with a pro who frankly should know better.
Pitreavie
Second time playing here. A good course which is very fair and not overly difficult. Greens and general condition is good . Little to dislike imo.
