The Osprey Course at Piperdam is so named because during the summer months, Ospreys nest at the loch that the course surrounds. The event has become such an attraction that the Piperdam Osprey Centre, an observation facility for visitors, was built. The course has a parkland style layout with water hazards and out-of-bounds stakes. Golfers are quickly introduced to the challenges of the course with the par-3 first hole, which requires a careful tee shot over water in order to reach the green. In addition to the scenic course, the Osprey Course at Piperdam offers a 12-bay driving range as well as boat and bank fishing on the loch.
