Played Murcar twice, once in their 36 hole Open.Superb course!! Great views, links golf at its best. 3rd hole must be among the most puzzling holes in golf as after you've played it the first time,an iron from the tee is the ONLY shot to play!! Super, but if the weather goes against you,LOOK OUT!In the Open,a local 2 handicap shot 99 in the 1st rd,
and was still in the hunt!!!
Anyone playing golf in the Aberdeen area MUST play this course, believe me!

Definitely an under-rated course in this area. The conditions at Murcar are nonpareil, the greens especially. Very fun links course with mounding on the first nine that can induce vertigo. Also, the chaps in the clubhouse are first-rate. A very welcoming environment. As a visitor, I felt more comfortable here than at any course in the Aberdeen area. Hats off to the members!
