Monifieth Golf Links - The Ashludie Course
About
The Ashludie Golf Course at Monifieth Golf Links is a compact and challenging test with tight fairways. Designed by James Braid, the golf course requires more brain than brawn, demanding accurate iron shots to the small, tricky greens.
The shorter Ashludie course next door to the Medal is an entertaining, if quite short, venue. A par-66 golf course of 5,123 yards, there are no par 5s but several very good par 4s, and four par 3s.
The holes to watch out for are the 13th playing to a plateau green and the 15th, a dogleg par-4 turning left where good positioning of the drive is essential.

Glorious day
Weather glorious. Met by the friendly starter and straight on to the tee. 2hrs. 45m fir 18 holes. Course in great condition. Real golfing atmosphere around the place. Will be back.
Great course
Second time playing here, the course is in great condition weather was good and had my lowest ever round (82). Pace of play was good even though it was quite busy completed round in 3 hours. Great day out and value for money.
Great course
First time playing a links course and this great little course didn't disappoint. It may not be the longest course in the world but don't take its lack of length lightly, there are no "easy " holes and good approach play is key to hitting and staying on the small greens. Course was in perfect condition and the weather was great and I played well so was a very enjoyable afternoon of golf. Will definitely be back to play again.
Ashludie- Monifeith
Well layout short course, great fairways, exceptional greens given time of year. Well worth the cost.
Will play again
Short, quirky and unique course. Don't expect an easy game just because it's short. Undulating fairways and very fast greens make this a unique challenge. You need to be accurate off the tee and have a good short game.
Fantastic day out
This is my fifth outing here, and I just love the course. It's perfect for the shorter hitter but don't think that makes it easy. Each hole is different and the greens are excellent, albeit, today they were slower than in previous outings.
I'm! Be back in the spring.
Fantastic day out
This is the fourth time I've played the Ashludie with a friend who used to be the steward at the Monifieth golf club. It is a great test and it allows shorter hitters to reach most of the greens in regulation. I just love this course, each hole is very different. If I lived in this part of the world this would be where I would play golf.
Wonderful place would highly recommend to anyone
Great wee course, a bit tricky at times, very nice greens. Would highly recommend this course.
Greens!
Greens were in immaculate condition. As good as I have seen this summer. Rolling so true and consistent. Brilliant.
The dry summer has made for real linksy conditions and was a great golf experience.
Enjoyable short course and exceptional value
The £15 twilight fee at Monifieth's Ashludie may be the best value I've seen in Scotland. What a treat it was getting out at 6:30 and getting in all 18. The links couldn't have been a better pick after a full day of work at Carnoustie down the road. Greens were perfect; I can't imagine they are much better at The Open. You've got to use all the clubs in your bag (there are two stout par 4s that played into the wind), but there are a lot of drive-and-pitch holes. It's great for working on the short game as the green complexes are all quite varied. I couldn't have enjoyed the evening more.
Short course but nice design. Played in wet conditions. Greens excellent. Had a good time. Staff helpful.
Great Day Out
I purposely played the 'small' course s my Wife is a beginner and had never played a proper links course. It was in very good condition and despite it's length there are some tricky holes. The catering in the Grange clubhouse was great value and good quality.
Little Gem!
Nestled by its big brother the Ashludie is a fantastic golf course. Small in stature it may be but it is a great test of short iron play.
Beautifully presented with very friendly staff from the starter to the pro shop and associated clubs.
Will definitely be back....go play it!
