Longside Golf Club
About
A relatively new golf course in Peterhead, just 31 miles from Aberdeen, Longside Golf Club was opened in 1979 and extended to a full 18 holes in 1996. A parklands course that plays to 5,251 yards from the back tees, Longside Golf Club demands accuracy off the tee and intelligent golf-course-management skills to navigate.
The scenic qualities of Longside Golf Club are outstanding, as are the amenities - a modern clubhouse features a bar lounge that has outstanding views of the No. 1 and No. 18 holes. The River Ugie runs through the golf course, adding to ambience of Longside, as well as adding to the challenge.
Near the coast and sent in a quaint Scotland landscape, Longside Golf Club has quickly earned a reputation as a place to enjoy a fun day on a flat golf course that provides great views and a calm atmosphere. With its seaside location, Longside has become a popular choice for those looking to get the most from a Scotland golf package.

Fun yet challenging
I have played this course numerous times now over the last few years and have to say its very enjoyable. The course itself is split into two sections, the new part and the old. Originally a nine hole, it was made into an 18, with the majority of holes now lying in the new area towards the far end of the east end of the village.
The previous comment about poor greens is valid when the course has had some flooding, which it is susceptible to every so often, however the majority of the time they are pretty decent. The course itself is fun to play and for the price of a green fee, its worth it.
A Friendly local course
The local people were friendly enough. A mixed bag of fairways, but unfortunately the greens were in a very poor condition. A very quick round, with everyone trying to play to a good pace.
I think this is a great course for beginners or locals to try out golf, but for a more experienced golfer they probably would not enjoy so much.
