Lagganmore Golf Club, opened in 1999, is already one of Scotland's hidden gems.
The 18-hole golf course enjoys a superb elevated position overlooking Dunskey Castle and the North Channel. On a clear day, the coast of Ireland and the Mourne Mountains can be seen across the water.
The 18-hole layout, which uses natural contours, ponds and burns, has been hailed by experts as a true challenge to the hardened golfer. The 494-yard seventh hole has become known as the best par-5 in Wigtownshire. The course also boasts two memorable par-3s and a floodlit driving range.
Golfers can take advantage of holiday packages, including unlimited golf for the duration of stay at Lagganmore Hotel, only yards from the first tee. The course is open to non-residents.
