Kyles of Bute Golf Club is a hilly, moorland golf course consisting of nine intriguing holes, all with magnificent views of the Kyles of Bute, Arran and Loch Fyne.
The Kyles of Bute golf course has no bunkers, but there are burns, punitive rough and long carries over heather, whin and blind holes to provide many challenges. An example is the first hole, which is only 110 yards, but it must be approached vertically to carry the Dooley Moolachs, stone and heather outcrops before the green.
No. 9 is poised 200 feet above the water of the Kyles at your back. Golfers are trying to get to a green that is below them and across the burn. It is 170 yards away and most of the time plays into a prevailing westerly wind.
