Kirriemuir Golf Club
About
Kirriemuir Golf Club, designed by James Braid, lies in the heart of Scotland's golfing country, 18 miles from Carnoustie and 35 miles from St. Andrews. No fewer than eight Open final qualifying golf courses are within a 45-minute drive.
Avenues of woods, gorse and broom surround lush, undulating fairways with greens that are impeccable and true. The views are inspiring, particularly from the fourth hole, with Lochnagar in the distance.
Like many of the great golf courses, Kirriemuir's best is reserved for the finish. The 17th, named Braid's Gem, is a 180-yard par-3 hole, with the green guarded by two majestic trees both left and right. No. 18 is a difficult par 4, uphill with a large oak tree blocking the right half of the fairway.
The par-68 heathland/parkland layout measures 5,518 yards from the back tees.

Easy walk, lovely surroundings, and very welcoming. Highly recommend Kirriemuir golf club and will be back soon.
Very good
Course in good nick despite the recent severe weather. A mixture of full and winter greens didn’t detract from an enjoyable round. Always made to feel welcome at Kirriemuir.
Winter greens
Wasn’t told before booking that it was winter greens, so was disappointed when turned up and it was winters
Kirriemuir Golf Club
First time playing this course. Not long but really good and interesting course and I great condition . Would definately play again
Very Slow Play
Course as always was in great condition, staff helpful and weather perfect. Game was ruined by extremely slow play by aged ladies and gentlemen who were taking half an hour to play two holes. Lots of similar paced groups so no one playing through and no effort made to do so. Slowest play I have ever seen.
Immaculate
First time playing Kirrie and it was in absolutely immaculate condition, greens in particular were tremendous. I enjoyed course a lot.
Very nice course
No complaints whatsoever well laid out course fairly open especially 1st nine holes with very little serious rough very enjoyable round of golf no hold ups 2 1/2 hours to zip around will definitely go back
Nice course.
Windy day but dry, course in good condition, some tricky greens, lots of trees, enjoyable round of golf.
Quality woodland course at qualty price.
Caught 'Kirrie' on one of those late afternoon/early evening autumnal weather conditions golfers dream of. And with the course itself having been set up for a club medal that had just been completed as we arrived, the course was also immaculate with super fast greens and excellently manicured fairways. For those not good at orienteering or can"t read a scorecard like me, my one and only gripe and to avoid slow play, there were no directional signs for the one or two tees where these might be required. Although to be fair, the starter did explain these to us before heading off. Last but by no means least, the staff and catering were wonderful and extremely welcoming with Covid restrictions well observed. Will certainly be back.
Good scenery, lots of trees and tightish
Course was in great condition, greens very testing.
Scenic gem.
Nice scenic course with an excellent variety of holes.
Excellent greens and fairways good pace of play.
Back nine more challenging with the last few holes being excellent ending holes.
Excellent friendly staff and members .
Would recommend to friends and family.
A gem in the Glens
You can find some very good and affordable courses away from the high profile candidates in this part of the world. Kirriemuir fits the bill perfectly. May not be the longest but with a thoughtful layout gave me some pleasure on an afternoon while visiting the area.
Would recommend to all lovers of the game to try and you will be pleased you stopped by.
