A super course
Really enjoyed this links course. Lots of varied terrain. Excellent condition. Blowing a gale but still a great day. Hope to return.
Beautiful links course, challenging bunkers, a few un sighted greens.
This course was challenging but fair.
In excellent condition with short fairways and medium speed greens
The 4th, 5th and 6th holes are the trickiest on the course with elevation changes and the railway and river out of bounds
Leave the driver in car! All but 2 holes are par 4s . If you have a driving iron you will find it useful.
Slow playing condition
Booked a 2 ball there was a junior competition would have been nice if we were informed took an hour to play 3 holes not the kids fault great to see them out playing still a great course would recommend beautiful and testing course in great condition
Great course
Great challenge of golf great tea boxes fairways and fast greens staff and members helpful and very friendly would highly recommend. A days golfing here
Fantastic greens
1st time lot of blind tee shots, need play again lost few strokes when I should hit an iron off the t,apart from that cant wait to play again greens fantastic putts run true, thanks to the guy in pro shop turned up tight for our tee off couldn't have been more helpful ,tight fairways for high handicap like me but enjoyed as I said irons on the short par 4s find fairways u laughing enjoy
Great course - but tight!
Played here several times over the years and never disappoints. After the weather we've had over the past few days parkland/moorland courses would be heavy/wet so looked for a links course and Bogside came up on the site. Old man never played here so i knew we had to book.
Course was busy but all ran on time. No hold ups on the course either. Staff were friendly and attentive too. The course itself was in good condition - tees and greens excellent only let down with some scabby fairways (when I hit them!)
Recommend this course if you like a challenge! Will be back!
Unreal Conditions
Played this course today, and given the recent weather, the course is in superb condition.
Quick greens, dry fairways. The staff couldn't have been nicer, got a warm welcome from both the pro and the starter.
Will be back 100%
A testing course with an extremely friendly welcome
We played the course with a wind blowing, not the best conditions in which to play an unknown course , and next time..... because there will be a next time.... we will know what is waiting over the hill for us.
I must add we had probably the friendliest welcome from the starter that we have had from any visiting Golf Club and I would not hesitate to recommend both the course, the clubhouse and the starter to anyone.
A great links type course
Social party of 16 had a very enjoyable round at this quite splendid course. The greeting from the time we arrived and throughout the day was friendly and welcoming. The catering for the after round meal was first class and appreciated by all those present. We would certainly consider returning.
Really friendly Irvine golf club
From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and made us feel at home. Whilst it’s still early for golf the course was in good condition. We shall return later in the season
Superb Golf Course
On a stretch of coastline that boasts probably ten of the finest links golf courses anywhere in the world, Irvine is right up there with the best of them at a fraction of the cost. Short par fives, only two par threes, but a fantastic selection of reachable short quirky par fours that are fun and challenging.
A course built into the natural terrain by James Braid, one of his masterpieces, the type of course that no-one would ever build nowadays unfortunately. Great to be able to actually reach most of the par fours. No two holes alike and not a weak hole on the course. A bit slow as fourball in front held me up for twelve holes and wouldn't let me play through. But nothing could take away from the enjoyment of playing this superb track. Best golf since I played the two courses at Machrihanish earlier this year .
One of the best
For the price i paid to play Irvine it is the best course i have ever played in this price bracket, £30 for a course in the same condition as you would pay for £150, the layout also one of the best i have played, will be returning once a year every year.
Glad you enjoyed your round.
The course has been outstanding this year and won't let you down on your return.
Thanks for the review.

Wonderful experience - highly recommended
A wonderful quirky traditional links course. Off the yellow tees the course was playing short given the dry conditions but the greens ran fast and true. It really does require some local knowledge to navigate but not knowing some of the pitfalls is no bad thing! The 5th and 6th are of their time but a great test.
For those who have played Glasgow Gailes I would say it is a similar test but with more idiosyncrasies. Definitely up there and in the mould of the best links tests.
Great review which is very much appreciated. Hope we see you again some time.

Nice, but heavy to play
The course was in a good but not perfect shape. The fairways are small and you have to take care about other golfers crossing the fairways. So it is better to stay on the fairways.
Verry friendly staff and the clubmanager himself give us a warm welcome! Nice restaurant as well.
Appreciate your comments. The course always presents different challenges.
Hope you come back and see us again.

Good Old Scottish Seaside Links
Nice contact on mail and phone already several weeks before our follow-up of 4 came to the course, Was well received and received good information about the track, history and facilities we could use. The course was challenging and had many holes we will remember, this is a course we definitely want and come back to.
So glad you enjoyed the course and thanks for leaving this review.

Fantastic review. Disappointing etiquette from the foursome in front which I can only apologise for. Clearly you know the area well and delighted that you appreciate how well our course stands up in the face of strong competition.
Hope we see you again.
