Insch Golf Club
About
Insch Golf brings a colorful past, incredible scenery and challenging play to the booming Scotland golf scene. Originally built before World War I, the golf course was used as a grenade range and golf disappeared from the quaint town of Insch until its triumphant return in 1982.
In 1997, Insch was transformed into an 18-hole run, and a new, modern clubhouse has helped make it one of the hidden gems in Aberdeenshire. Playing to more than 5,000 yards from the back tees with a par of 69, Insch is a parkland course where accuracy and course management are a must for players looking to mark down low scores.
Set between the peaks of Bennachie and Dunnideer, in the picturesque village of Insch - just a 40-minute drive from Aberdden - Insch Golf Club is conveniently located near such golf powerhouses as St. Andrews, Cruden Bay and Royal Dornoch.

Good advert for golf in the Highlands
We had a most enjoyable day for our first visit to Insch Golf Club. Great scenery and course layout. The course was in excellent condition despite the maintenance challenges all clubs have been facing as a consequence of the recent lockdown. We were sorry that, due to our time pressure we were unable to sample the catering. We will definitely return for another visit next time we are in the area.
Would happily play again
Great value. Neat, tidy and well kept course. Lovely views and quiet. Some really interesting holes.
Lovely day
Only my second time at Insch. Course in good condition. Fairways were fantastic. Not a long course but you certainly need to keep the ball on the short stuff. Some really good short par 4s. Greens were a wee bit on the slow side but in very good condition. Staff were very friendly in the clubhouse.
I had never been to Insch before and really enjoyed it. Cracking wee course in very good condition. Some memorable holes. Not a long course but well bunkered. Very friendly and welcoming in the clubhouse.
Great parkland course
This is the 2nd time I played this course and it was as good as I remembered. Very nice layout but I don't like the way the net on the second hole interferes with your drive, think it could be placed a little more to the left, but thats a minor grumble as I'm a left to right player. Each hole is different and quirky with no straight up and down the fairway holes. Staff in the clubhouse are very friendly and the facilities great. If I lived in three area I would definitely take out a membership.
Good challenge in beatiful location
Don't be fooled by the length of this course. It proves to be a tricky challenge where accuracy off the tee is rewarded. Greens are undulating and never straightforward. The setting is stunning especially around 10th and 11th holes. Course is kept in very good condition. Best course in inland North East in my opinion after Kemnay.
Friendly and welcoming clubhouse.
