Hilton Park Golf Club - The Allander Course
About
The Allander Course at Hilton Park Golf Club offers 18 holes over 5,487 yards with a 69 par, and shows off its signature hole early: The par-4 fifth hole plays to 372 yards and goes by "Burncrooks." It features a slight dog leg right toward a sunken two-tiered green protected by the Allander burn on three sides, all of which lie out of bounds, making it a tough hole.
James Braid designed the Allander Course at Hilton Park Golf Club way back in 1927 for a 1928 opening. The golf course remains mostly faithful to his vision. The only is that exception of a bit more parkland than moorland because of a recent tree-planting campaign, both to augment the golf course's character and protect the golf course from increased rainfall due to climate change.
The Allander Course at Hilton Park Golf Club is the shorter of the golf club's two golf courses, but management says that just makes it all the more attractive to low-handicap golfers and women.

Excellent well maintained course greens are superb, probably one of the best courses I have played to date. It is course you really need to play a few times to score low on, as there is a lot of blind first shots due to how hilly it is. Will definitely return for another game especially if I can pick it up for £16 a round. What a deal that was!!
Highly enjoyable
Scenery, layout and condition all combine for the most enjoyable round. Not the longest overall but a variance of hole type doglegs each way and challenging par 3’s. good coarse for any level of player
Super course
Great views lovely course well kept defo a first class course recommended
Excellent course, friendly members
I booked last minute and could only manage 9 holes.
The members were playing a medal and very friendly pointing me in the correct direction of the course I was playing... there are 2 courses!
Members in front also very friendly, offered me to play through but I was only doing 9 holes so stayed behind them and followed them
For direction to be honest.
Excellent course, will definitely be back and play a full 18.
Quality course
Great course, best greens I've played in years outside the very expensive courses, lots of blind shots but still enjoyable
Good course. Very enjoyable. Heavy rain over night meant parts of the course were a little wet. 2 drives plugged straight in the middle of the fairways. The majority of the course was in great condition. Greens also in great condition.
Good value for money
Can't review the full facilities as the clubhouse etc was closed for COVID. However the course was in great condition for the end of November. Some small damp patches in the fairway but it has had a few weeks of rain recently.
Lost a couple balls from plugging in the fairway however overall was good conditions.
Greens were fantastic.
Hilton Park: Allander Course
On the plus side the course was good condition, the greens were excellent. On the downside the course is very hilly, also try and avoid playing late into the evening, as the course has a lot of trees and the midges are very unpleasant.
Lovely day for golf
It was a lovely day for the golf ! Course was in good nick for late February and at £11 was value for money
not good
Did not like the course at all and the greens were not very good conditions
Allender course review.
First time playing here, saw a great price on teeofftimes.co.uk that suited me and my mate.
Arrived to find the place heaving, it was the Senior open, but not to worry as it has two courses.
The Allender course is great, lovely parkland course, that has open fairways, but hazards for you to take notice off. Bunkers had a healthy depth of sand so played true.
Bar staff friendly at the end of the round.
Wish the course was nearer to home and not 45 minutes away. Will most assuredly be back in the future.
Only 4 stars for the course as it was a tad soggy at some points, but didn't overly detract from play.
Don't pass up playing here!
