So good, I'd join

It's not often I've played a golf course and just simply fallen in love with it. The use of the land is simply breathtaking. Where others would have flattened the fairways, Forfar uses the land to its advantage. By doing so, each tee shot requires something a bit different. Distance will only help you so much here, accuracy is key!

Large undulating greens make for challenging approach play, but they were in such good condition, that you could attack the hole with confidence.

Staff and facilities were both excellent, the only thing bigger than the greens was the burger I had in the clubhouse. Fantastic!

I can't wait to play it again.

Heathland heaven

Having passed the course and admired the natural beauty of the setting many times, I was really looking forward to my round. And it surpassed my expectations! This is not a hilly course but the undulating landscape adds significant interest to every hole and with the trees, heather and grasses of the rough and fairways make each hole a beautiful sight. The course architect has made a fantastic job of creating a golf course using the landscape available. The fairways are beautifully shaped and bunkers well-placed (as I found out to my cost!). The definition on most holes is superb. The greens are surprisingly large and offer a great challenge in the correct approach and once on the putting surface. But they are also very true and consistent.
There was a gents medal on the day we played and at some courses playing in front of members can be frowned upon. The Forfar members we met could not have been friendlier and offered us a few tips on lines etc.
Service and food in the clubhouse were superb. All staff friendly and attentive.
An excellent golf course and a great day out!
