Dunfermline Golf Club
About
Dunfermline Golf Club has had four homes, which seems like a lot, except it has been around since 1887. So that averages to one home every 30 years. The math is a little fuzzy, though, because the club has been at Pitfirrane since 1953.
The current golf course was designed by architect J.R. Stutt. He played loose with the length, giving Dunfermline five par 5s and five par 3s, an unusual combo that gives the golf course lots of variety from hole to hole. In fact, on the front nine, no par is repeated twice, a streak that isn't broken until No. 10, which starts a string of three par 4s.
The most taxing stretch, unless you have a booming driver, has to be the final five holes, start at No. 14, called "West Lodge," a 381-yard par 4. You have to drive left to avoid a big tree on the right. The green is surrounded by trees also. No. 15 is a 479-yard par 5 called The Pentlands. You get a reprieve on Myrend, the 16th, a par 3 with a reasonable length of 156 yards and a generous green, albeit littered with bunkers.
The Dunfermline golf course closes with a bang, starting on 17, Malcolm's Wheel, a 497-yard par 5. Your second shot will be blind, with a small green free of bunkers. No. 18 is the real monster, though. Halketts Hame is the longest on the course at 528 yards. Don't let the length intimidate you, though. It's a straight shot, with a wide green and few bunkers.
Visitors are welcome at Dunfermline Golf Club. The dining room features a full menu, and snacks are available in the members lounge. There's a pro shop, a practice area, a driving range and putting greens.

Great Value for Weekend
Great course not played for a number of year but just like I remembered excellent conditions.
Seve60
Most impressed with this course. Pity tee off times are later in the day on GOLFNOW. Certainly good value for the money.
Beautiful course
I played this today first time and was paired with another golfer. We had a great 18 and I thoroughly enjoyed it, possibly the nicest course I've played so far and it was absolutely beautiful. Not too challenging not to easy, would recommend.
Nice course, poor condition
The course is well laid out, within a very nice piece of land , and has some holes. I would remark that the greens were in poor condition. There were lots of un-repaired pitch marks, very uneven and inconsistent which was a bit of shame. Don’t let this put you off as I’m sure you will enjoy and I will revisit in the height of summer.

An excellent experience playing this course. Worth passing up playing on a more expensive course to give this one a go.
Greens were in fantastic condition. Membership and staff most accommodating.
Fantastic Golf Course
Played after a morning of torrential rain, my local course was closed. We expected it to be very wet underfoot, it wasn’t. Greens superb, fairways carpet like, very tidy with rough cut back.I have played this course 4 times this year, winter and spring, and frankly it’s always been nicely presented. Well worth a visit.
Dunfermline golf club
Played this course before and enjoyed it. This time still a great course to play. Only down side was all the greens where closed, Had to play winter greens. I know at times this can’t be helped. Had a visitor through from Glasgow. Would have liked him to play the real course.
Good starter
It was the first course we play in this stay in Scotland and it was a very good begin. The course was somewhere challeging but not that hard. The maintenance of the course was perfect, like starting the season on a fine course. Layout was good and not that busy on the course.
Excellent course
Course in excellent condition. Beautiful mature treelined fairways. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Enjoyable Round of Golf
Played this course with 3 friends and we very much enjoyed our day. The course was challenging, interesting and looked lovely with lots of well established trees.
The Pro was helpful and friendly. The girl behind the bar was on her own and could have done with someone to help,to speed up service but when the food came, it was beautifully presented and very tasty.
We would definitely go back and play the course again.
Great day here.
Well worth a visit here. Course was in superb condition and the off course facilities and food was excellent. Highly recommended.

Course was in fantastic condition. Not particularly long but some thinking required.
Dunfermline G.C.
Extremely pleasant visit to this course. Greens were immaculate and course was in good conditions, Staff were friendly and courteous. We will visit again in September.
Great day
A great day of golf, and the food at the clubhouse afterwards was very nice!
Nice course if the price is right
A lovely clubhouse and polite staff . The course was in good condition though the grass on the greens wasn't great . One member playing solo felt the need to complain about our speed of play despite the fact we were up with the group in front and he had been offered the chance to play through twice . Overall very enjoyable but probably not worth the £45 full price
