D and G trip 2

After playing the county in the am we arrived for part 2 of our Dumfries trip in the afternoon and like the course in the morning we were not disappointed. Although longer the 4 of us all enjoyed the test, with the course in immaculate condition with slick true rolling greens. Thankfully we were in a cart as the course was undulating with a lot of 390+ yard par 4's but it did offer some cracking views of the course..Personally we found it not as inviting or as warm as our am round (possibly down to being a golf chain rather than a pro shop but on saying that the bar staff were very friendly and hospitable.

Lovely course

It was my 3rd visit, went with my partner for a game, was a perfect day, lots of challenges, do-able for me with a handicap 30. Enjoyed the course very much.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Great first visit.

Played as a four ball so views were from all four.
After the recent very dry weather all over the country and having played about 20 different courses this year the greens at D F and G golf club were the best we have played, not to fast but very true, overall the course was excellent not to tough if you keep it fairly straight.
Very friendly staff from the pros shop to the bar staff.
The only thing that we marked it down on was no practice net.
Would definitely play here again if we get chance and would definitely recommend to others.

Surprising

Rang in the morning because of the weather over the previous few days and was told the course was fully open. Course was in great condition apart from a couple of holes that were closed but I'm guessing this is normal because there is a new hole slotted in on the back 9 and the green is of the same high standard as the rest. Green keepers are obviously very hard working. Off course facilities are good and the staff are friendly and welcoming

Excellent course

Can't fault anything about this course. Great condition despite the recent weather. There were a few areas that were wet and some of the bunkers were missing rakes ( we were told they'd been stolen ) Staff were very friendly and the American golf shop onsite is excellent.

Blustery and wet day

On a really windy day , and wet underfoot with the downpour of 4 days days solid, the course was open and very playable. par threes are accessible, front 9 is long and the only problem is the undulating surface, but even in the windy weather I enjoyed myself and managed to get a par or 2 so I was happy with it

Played on nice sunny day, with my partner who is deaf and the number of blind holes was awkward. Was not particularly difficult as it is now only two days later and I cannot remember any hole in particular. It is surrounded by housing on all sides and compared to other D&G courses views are lacking. NB: very limited parking entrance on main road and most players have to park on road outside of course. Glad we got this on a Golf Now deal and played for £16 each, that is what it is worth.
