Dumfries and County Golf Club
About
The Dumfries and County Golf Club is a privately owned parkland golf course situated on the outskirts of Dumfries. Bordered on one side by the Nith River, it offers spectacular views of the Nith Valley and surrounding countryside.
The USGA-standard greens are among the best in the area. Built on 89 acres, this golf course demands a high degree of course management to achieve a par of 69.
The fifth hole - Spion Kop - is named after the famous battle of the Boer War. The 374-yard par-4 starts from an elevated tee, with a second shot to an elevated green. The right-hand side is bordered by the Nith.
No. 15 is a 371-yard par-4 with a dogleg to the right. The second shot to a lower level green is protected by a massive tree named after legendary golfer and course designer James Braid.

Outstanding parkland course
Really enjoyed the course, a fine parkland course with nice views and some really nice holes.
My favorite being the 2nd and the 6th. the greens were outstanding I found them extremely tricky and fast!
Very good place to play, would recommend it to friends and family.
A very good course, lots of changes and challenging sections all throughout the course.
Trip to D and G
Great course in great condition, with fabulous staff and members. Couldn't fault our visit and for £25 pp what an absolute steal and we will return.
Lovely Course
Played Dumfries and County yesterday. What a lovely course in first class condition. Greens were fast a d true - would definitely play here again.
County day out
Was a lovely day out only one complaint that first time on very hard to know where you going and if any trouble over hill or not, would have been excellent if yardage book was available or something to show the hole you playing, but brilliant course and a must for all golfers .
Difficult for ladies
My husband and I played this course in the rain. With our handicaps we can normally compete with each other but with all the hills I was hitting 2 shots to reach my husbands ball.
Good course if you want to hit a long ball but not the most interesting I have played.
The course was in great condition though.
