Slowest greens ever and a free for all on the course.

Possibly the slowest greens I've ever encountered and I've played some right disasters. Some benefit of the doubt because maybe covid has impacted the green keeping but they really were terrible. Rest of the course was OK.

Just as big a problem was players not sticking to the course. It started on the first hole when a single player showed up just as we were teeing off bang on our tee time. He did not follow us onto the 2nd. All through the round we found out that single players jump in front and behind and wander the course playing whatever hole they want and don't give a thought that they are impacting play on a busy bank holiday. Then by hole 14 a trio of 'elderly' gentlemen did the same and the pace became even worse. We were done in 3hrs 50m so not the worst but it leaves a sour taste for a visitor and will come into my thinking if I ever come back. Not even convinced all these single players had a reserved tee time and suspect they just showed up on a sunny bank holiday chancing their arm on 'their' home course?

Great Course - early season greens

The layout of the course is great, good mixture of holes with different tests. A challenge for all
Golfers. Only slight issue was the greens, but I’m
Sure these will come good once the weather plays fair with the green keepers.

Sand!!

No staff at the pro shop to meet us to check in.
All the greens were covered in sand which made them very inconsistent bumpy and slow.
The course needs a lot of maintenance throughout. Could be a great course.

Long course

Have played here before so knew what to expect with the length of the course. However the greens were less than satisfactory. They were long, mossy in places and extremely bumpy. Also there are still 2 winter greens in play. For over £30 per person you can definitely get better courses elsewhere.

The greens were the only disappointing side to the round. With the recent weather suppose we can’t expect much. Other than that the course is decent. Staff very welcoming and friendly.

Poor condition

Course layout is superb however the condition is pretty poor with moss everywhere and greens in a poor condition. Was a four ball Texas scramble in front of us which should be quick but it took us over 4 hours 15 mins and were waiting on every tee box, when we as a 3 ball should have been allowed to play through

Not good

Our tee time was 8am, there was no staff there for us to check in and get scorecards, the majority of the corse was under water, a lovely dry morning and we come off soaking, all round bad experience and wasn’t worth £63 for 3 of us

Wet

Very wet course, pretty poor drainage. I’d imagine it would be good in summer but how many times do you say that about courses in Spring. You’d be better off playing something else. A bit pricey. Would recommend in July.

Has potential

This course is attached to a nuffield gym with cafe. The course itself is tight in places but very boggy and the greens could be better maintained. (Very bumpy and mossy in areas) the signage between holes could be better.
It's not all bad, some good challenging holes with blind corners to consider and fairways are generally pleasant.
