About

Holes 18
Type Public
Style Parkland
Par 67
Length 5472 yards
Slope 111
Rating 65.6

The Craigentinny Golf Club offers a view of Arthur's Seat and the Calton Hill monuments as just one of the draws of the 18-hole par-67 course. A nifty hodgepodge of holes is another draw of the undulating parkland course, which requires both brains for puzzling lpar-3s and brawn for the longer -4s. Overall, the golf course amounts to 5,511 yards and suits all levels.

Well-maintained greens at the Craigentinny Golf Club are guarded by some tricky bunkers, which require a lot of thinking ahead - and even more accuracy - to hit par.

For example, the Craigentinny Golf Club's dogleg 414-yard par-4 10th hole demands a long tee shot to get past the trees, but then a second shot just as long to make the green.

Straightforward course but good for council

Looking for another course coming out of Covid lockdown and gave this a go.
Neat and tidy, distance markers at 150/100, greens nearly all good, wide fairways and rough not too bad.
We had a couple of elderly gents in front and a four ball hacker next up, yet still got round in 3 hours - that's the pace of play in Scotland ; like pubs it's "you here to talk or drink?"
At the moment (see para1) I'm motto bothered about the layout, but it is pretty straight - every hole - so not much to think about.
Par 3's were considered, though, with extra deep bunkers all round including the 233 yd one. There's the 14th (I think), 165 yd slightly downhill with a five yard long piece of (away sloping) green to aim at behind a steep bunker.
Nice day and enjoyed but would be looking for more excitement and cheaper cost when the China virus thing goes away.

It feels like Scotland

This gem of a course for the intermediate golfer was excellent. The pace of play was awesome. I didn’t wait on holes and I wasn’t pushed during the entire round. The fairways were manicured and the greens rolled true. The course doesn’t have a lot of trees and if you don’t find the fairway you will meet with some nasty grass. The course has some interesting twists and the 17th hole par three, and the 18th hole were my favorite since it was 8:30pm and with the weather misty and breezy; it really made me feel like I was playing in Scotland (it stays light until 10:00 pm in this part of the world during the summer). Overall nice course.
