Charleton Golf Club in Fife bills itself as the "perfect course for visitors." The parkland golf course is an 18-hole par 72, just 15 minutes from St. Andrews. The holes are set among panoramic views over the Firth of Forth, in what its Web site boasts as "the most attractive golf course in Fife."
The Charleton course starts with three straight par 4s, including the third, a dogleg that kicks off from an elevated position. No. 4 is a par 5, 475 yards and uphill. You get a break on No. 5, one of two par 3s on the course, a 152-yard shot with a tricky layout and a tight green. Hit to the left and you miss the fairway. To the right you get bunker.
The back nine is highlighted by No. 11, called "The Law," a 344-yard par 4. Hit your tee shot left of the green. Head right and you'll end up rolling down toward a pond and semi-rough. No. 17 is Charleton Golf Club's signature hole, nicknamed "The Ha Ha," a 287-yard par 4. The tricky shot is the second, which is over a wall onto a narrow green.
Charleton Golf Club also features nine-hole pitch and putt, a driving range, a clubhouse with a restaurant and bar, and the use of carts in the summer.

I have played this course for the last 5 years over the winter months and although it can be a bit heavy and rather muddy the greens make up for it.
Like I say a good course but not for the shortest of players from the tee as there is a lot of long holes that you may not reach it two but for lower handicap players like myself it is a great track to let your driver loose on.
Well worth a visit and at £17.00 a round you will not be disappointed over the winter months, we normally play doubles when we visit this course and many have tried over the years but no team have ever managed to beat us on this track so it's got a special place in my heart.
Any challenges will be welcomed.
