Bridge of Allan Golf Club
About
Designed by Old Tom Morris, Bridge of Allan is a nine-hole golf course dating back to 1895. It's a layout for vista lovers, offering picturesque views of the surrounding countryside, including Stirling Castle.
Watch out for the first hole, The Dyke. Measuring 223 yards from the back tees, this par 3 requires an uphill drive over a six-foot stone wall 175 yards from the tee to an elevated green. It's arguably one of the most difficult holes in Scotland.
Don't fret if you're a high handicapper. Though Bridge of Allan will push your ability to shoot low, it won't give you a beating, and there are some birdie opportunities.
The facility also includes a small practice area and nine-hole putting green.

Quirky
Heavy showers and pretty strong winds made for a very difficult not pleasant outing. Still, warm, sunny day needed!
This is just too much up and down, with difficult, sometimes blind drives, lots of slopes and trees, and tricky greens. Play with a member would be a great help.
And bring your best ball striking.
Loads of great holes but hard work if playing 18
Great wee course but first 2 holes are like a fitness workout. You climb to the summit but the descent is great with some superb scenic holes. Hard work if pushing a heavy manual trolley or carrying your bag.
Nice views
Too hilly & not enough direction poles for visitors on the blind holes. Great views tho but wont return I'm afraid! Club never said a Ladies comp was on around our tee time so waiting around a lot.
great setting
yes course was in first class condition
1st hole is no par 3 though
apart from that the course and staff were very friendly
would recommend and play again
Bridge of Allan
What a wonderful course, the first Tom Morris course I have played, wanted to play Eskanish whilst over in Uist but the weather was against us. Bridge of Allan is a 9 hole double tee course, quite a challenge and well laid out. Very hilly, but would not stop me playing it again especially once you have sussed the layout. A little Gem and well worth a visit.
5*
Fantastic course. Fairly hilly and Avery tough par 3 for the 1st but beautiful course will definitely be back
A very pleasant but hilly 9 hole course
This lovely course is worth seeking out as it’s in excellent condition and the views are amazing . It is only 9 holes so you play it twice and the first two holes are very steep and hard going but if you don’t mind this you’ll Surely go on to enjoy the well looked after course . Nice small clubhouse and pleasant staff
Think twice
Great location however nature of the course with too many up and downs spoiled the experience .
Course was on great condition and. Everyone very friendly .
First Round of Summer
Excellent course. Challenging but rewarding. Locals and staff very friendly and welcoming. Great views. Helped by the fact that the weather was perfect. Reasonable when bought with a ‘hot deal’ offer.
