Blairmore & Strone Golf Club, designed by James Braid, was opened in 1896. The golf course is set above the Clyde, with breathtaking views of Loch Long, Holy Loch and the Firth of Clyde.
Blairmore & Strone is a mixture of hilly and some flatter parkland. There are large areas of deep rough bordering most fairways to add to the challenge, despite the golf course's relatively short length of 2,112 yards over nine holes.
The third hole in particular can be a challenge. The approach is steep, with an equally steep left to right slope. The fifth hole is shorter but has a similar right to left slope.
