Auchmill Golf Course
About
Offering inspiring views of Aberdeen and Aberdeen Airport, Auchmill Golf Club is a municipal golf course with a world-class pedigree. Originally built in the early 1970s as a nine-hole course and later extended to a full 18, Auchmill was designed by the triumvirate of Brian Hugget, Neil Coles and Roger Dyer, meaning the course was laid out with the experience of a top golf course architect (Dyer), a former Ryder Club player (Coles) and a known British pro (Hugget).
Auchmill was designed to take advantage of its unique topography, meaning golfers will be challenged by a variety of lies andinteresting hole placements. Four par 5s will have long hitters reaching for their big guns, while tricky par 3s and challenging par 4s will have golfers of all levels working to put down a good score.
This wooded parkland course that plays to nearly 6,000 yards will not just give you interesting holes that are aptly and cunningly named - like "The Frog" and "The Quarry" - but it will also give players a great golfing experience for their money. With green fees ranging from £15 to £20, Auchmill Golf Club offers golfers a great golfing experience without denting their wallet.

Just off the 4th tee “very nice” NOT Photo submitted by Steve5755845 on 08/09/2020
Poor value for money
I paid on Golf Pass £32 for a 2 ball on a course that I later found out it’s green fees were £10pp so would have been £20 for my 2 ball round. In addition four of the holes were completely closed! So I essentially paid £16pp to play 14holes of golf. Disgusted that golf pass charge more for tee times (and that is not including the £2 they add on) than the club itself. What a waste. Highly disappointed in Golf Pass. Equally the greens were all winter greens (to be expected) but there was no attempt it seemed to cut the grass around the winter greens at all. Also temporary tees are not laid out well at all and in places hard too even find.
pleasantly surprised
I hadn't played at Auchmill for quite a while and never had played it in winter set up and was pleasantly surprised, I will definitely have to get back in the summer months and fully enjoy the excellent course layout.
Lovely course with some challanging holes.
I have played here a few times and always found it to be a great course in great condition.
The course has a unique design.
If you want a challenge of a course with fast sloping greens and interesting design it’s well worth the money.
Nice course, poor condition
Never seen a private course in such a state! Greens were bobbly, rubbish everywhere from trees and the local neds who liked running around stealing peoples golf balls including ours! Loads of under 16’s hiding in the bushes putting people off talking total rubbish. Shame as if these issues were not there it would have been quite enjoyable!
Nice course, fair condition, for all level of handicapers
This is my fith round of golf at Auchmill his season and was my favourite, the course was delayed in opening for the season until June and initially was not in great shape especially some greens but it has been improving over the preceding weeks and now fairways are nicely cut and the greens have improved alot. It's not a difficult course to play so all levels will enjoy it, it's inexpensive compared to others in and around Aberdeen so value for money is good.
Keep up the good work greenkeepers.
Great Value for Money
Great value for money and always improving course standards and facilities, course has been coming on leaps and bounds!!!

Auchmill
Due to an outing of non-golfers taking place we walked off after 12 holes. 3 hours to do 12 holes and I phoned the club to complain at the 7th hole about slow play but nothing was done about it. Cans were left lying on the course from so-called outing and they made no effort to speed up play at all. Very disappointed and 3 other grpoups around us also walked off.
Poor
Course was in poor conditions cuttings of grass lying all over fairway bunkers not playable and greens covered in pitch marks and sand would not recommend
Shocking state
I have not seen so much dog poo On the fairways in all my life .. motorbike tyres tracks all over the back nine fairways.. people walking willy nilly all over the place waking dogs..Poor quality golf course
Horrible condition of course
This course was awful. The greens are possibly the worst I have ever seen on any course. When I asked about some sort of discount due to the state of the greens and not being able to even complete holes due to the putting surface (play half a game) I was told that this is normal and they would do nothing about it.
See pictures.
Worst in Scotland
Course must be one of the worst in Scotland. Greens horrendous, bunkers have more weeds in them than sand. Empty beer cans/bottles lying beside every tee box and in the rough. Even had teenagers smoking joints in the trees. Could be a really good course but looks like everyone has gave up on it. Can’t believe the members are getting charged round the £500 pa mark. DONT PLAY HERE
But rough round the edges
Course overall is good, one or two greens are in poor condition, a few bunkers overgrown with grass/weeds. There must be a public footpath that runs through the course as there are plenty of dog walkers and kids loitering around. There are a few challenging holes and blind tee shots but also some par 4’s that are close to driveable ( on a good day ) so the course offers something for everyone. I have played this course a couple of times whilst up in Aberdeen to travel offshore the following day, it is decent value for money
