For golfers in Nairn, Claymore House Hotel is a great base

Having golfed many many times in the Scottish Highlands, I wanted to let your readers know about our favorite hotel there. Each time we play golf in the north of Scotland, my sons and I always base ourselves at the Claymore House Hotel in Nairn.

If you go

You've got three great tracks there in Nairn (Nairn Dunbar Golf Club, Nairn Golf Club and Cawdor Castle Golf Course), plus it's an easy drive to Inverness and even Royal Dornoch.

The staff know how to treat golfers and guests -- like family. Every time we arrive we really feel like we're coming home.

I will second the review on the Claymore House in Narin. We stayed their for three days on our recent golf trip to Scotland and it was everything mentioned. The rooms are large and excellent, the food great and the service outstanding. If you are looking for a place in the highlands, this is your place.
