Banchory Golf Club
About
Less than 20 miles from Aberdeen, Banchory Golf Club has a long history of delivering a great parklands golf option to Scotland. Built in 1905 and originally designed by John Souter, Banchory has the antiquity and location to make it a popular outing both for locals, as well as those who have hooked up a Scotland golf package.
Set above the scenic River Dee, Banchory is a scenic par 69 layout that will challenge golfers of all levels. Because while not particularly long at just over 5,801 yards, strategically placed bunkers, mature trees and the waters of the River Dee provide obstacles that can test low handicappers as well as high.
Including a memorable clubhouse, as well as lessons from the club pro, Banchory Golf Club has stood up to the test of time for more than 100 years, and seems to get better every year.

LOVELY BEAUTIFUL GOLF VIEWS
1st time playing BANCHORY Golf Course, would definitely recommend this lovely well maintained golf course. Drive the ball well and you can definitely score, tight tree lined fairways, very good challenging par 3’s.
Staff and members very friendly, I would play course again.
Course layout
Beautiful course however I did feel that a couple of the holes ran parallel causing a few incidents.
Banchory
Lovely course and we had a lovely snack in a social distanced setting in the beautiful club house
Great value
Forgiving course in great condition, challenging par 3,s.Overall in great condition with very friendly stall, recommended.
Nice Course
First time at Banchory for me, and I wasn’t disappointed.
Considering time of year (late April) Course was in good condition, and very dry. Greens generally were very good, with consistent pace.
Round topped of with a cold shandy on the Clubhouse balcony, perfect end to a lovely day.
I will certainly return for another round.
Good course
Arrived early and was able to tee off straight away. First 5 or 6 holes were good but then caught up with end of ladies medal. From then on pace of play was ridiculously slow so much so that I walked off after the 16th. It was a shame really because it was a lovely day on a nice course. The course itself was in great condition easy walking and not too difficult. I would like to play it again.
Great Layout
Fantastic layout.
Very tricky par 3,s .
Played in 20° and in perfect conditions.
Stayed in area overnight and was well worth the visit.
Poor, uncontrolled pace of play
I agree with all the positive reviews posted here, but our round was spoiled due to following behind a ladies completion 3 ball. After the first 3 holes, we ended up waiting for a long time one every tee and on every shot (as did the other 2 ball behind us). Hole 9 was reached in 2 hours!!! Eventually though, this continual slow pace of golf was just too unpleasant and so we walked off after the 12th hole, hence the negative comments.
On reaching the Pro Shop, we stoppped by to comment on the pace of play and they seemed to think it was acceptable to have a 4 hour round of golf on a relatively short course and it was our fault for purchasing the round though Teeofftimes. Sorry, but if a course is willing to accept such slow play in a competition, then they shouldn't sell the tee off times immediately following it, no matter where you buy it.
Average
Nice day, course conditions were good, few boring holes but found the amount of people out for a stroll with their kids or dog as you are playing the course was a bit annoying, surely they could find a better place to walk. not the clubs fault but i wouldn't pay full price to play here
Course in superb condition
The course is of a length and layout that particularly suits the broad mid range of golfers. Very low handicappers may find it a little too forgiving but no less enjoyable.
The rest of us mere mortals find it a great round of golf on a course in fantastic condition.
Suberb layout
We played as a 3 ball this morning. From the moment we arrived and had a chat with the Pro 'Dean' we knew we were in for a good day. The 4 ball in front were very friendly and played a fantastic pace and the 4 ball behind we rarely bumped into after the 2nd/3rd.
Very well kept short course which is not too challenging but very enjoyable to play.
